Effective Fire Detection
Fire Suppression is one part of the Active Fire Protection required to protect a commercial or industrial property. Before one of the three Fire Suppression agents can be discharged you will need to be able to detect the fire.
There are three main methods for indoor fire detection, firstly standard Smoke Detectors, beam detectors and VESDA Systems.
Standard Smoke Detectors are arranged to give protection in all areas of the building itself. Beam detectors are utilised in open areas with vaulted ceilings, where smoke from a floor level fire would take an extended period to reach a normal detector. VESDA Systems are fitted to give an early warning of fire and are very sensitive. All these are interfaced into the Fire Suppression Control Panel.
